Legislative History Research: Step 5: Companion Bills

A guide for researching the history of the Minnesota State Legislature.

Researching a Companion Bill

A companion bill is similar or identical legislation which is introduced in the Senate and House at the same time.  These bills have different numbers and have to be researched separately, but the research process (Steps 2 through 4) is the same.

The Index for Companion Bills in the Journals provides bill numbers.
