Newsboy distributing January 1937 Minneapolis Journal.The Minnesota Historical Society holds the world's largest collection of Minnesota newspapers, with dates ranging from 1849 to the present day.

Past issues of most newspaper titles are available on microfilm in the MNHS library, but there is also digital access to select newspapers

Dates:

  • June 14, 1989: Groundbreaking for the Mall of America takes place.
  • August 11,1992: Mall of America opens.
  • January 19, 2006: Camp Snoopy is temporarily renamed "The Park at MOA", as the indoor amusement park transitions to Nickolodeon Universe.
  • November 3, 2006: The Triple Five Group gains full control of Mall of America ownership.
  • March 15, 2008: Nickolodeon Universe officially opens.
  • May 18, 2008: The Minnesota State Legislature passes a bill granting the city of Bloomington the right to raise property and sales taxes to pay for a proposed Mall Of America expansion
  • March 24, 2012: The Triple Five Group officially announces the start of a $200 million Mall expansion.
  • March 15, 2013: Radisson Blu Hotel opens
  • March 18, 2014: Groundbreaking takes place for a $300 million expansion project on the north side of the Mall.
