Chiefly newspaper clippings (1904-1937), supplemented by speeches, commissions, and miscellany, revealing Hall's interest in labor organizations and the Minnesota labor movement. There is information on his efforts to organize iron miners on the Mesabi Range.

John Lind Papers.
The papers of John Lind, congressman, Minnesota governor (1899-1901), and special agent to Mexico, include the transcript of a hearing before the state House Committee on Labor and Labor Legislation regarding labor agitation on the northern Minnesota Iron Range (Jan. 30, 1917).

Materials Relating to the Oliver Iron Mining Company, compiled by James S. Steel.
Correspondence, reports, interview transcripts, statistical information extracted from published and manuscript sources, photographs, and related materials documenting the operations of the Oliver Iron Mining Company on the Mesabi Iron Range, and also including some materials on the Vermilion Iron Range. The papers were compiled in 1963 by James S. Steel, then employed by the Oliver Iron Mining Company, for a possible publication that never materialized.

Clayton A. Videen Research Notes.
Handwritten copies of newspaper and magazine articles selected and annotated by Videen detailing strike activities in the Mesabi and Cuyuna Iron Ranges in 1907 and 1916. There is information on the Western Federation of Miners (1907), strike actions and violence, public opinion, investigative commissions, the Oliver Iron Mining Company, the role of ethnic minorities in the strikes, and the activities of the Timber Workers Union in the 1920 strike. A major portion of the collection relates to the 1916 Iron Range strike, and includes some statistical data on mining activities.

This archival collection consists of reports, transcripts of hearings and testimony, and correspondence regarding labor problems, including problems on the Iron Range and in St. Louis County in 1907.
