Harry D. Ayer and Family Papers, 1787-1982
The correspondence, legal papers, financial records, Indian estate records, ledgers, inventory books, school notebooks, and personal record books of Harry D. and Jeannette Ora (Foster) Ayer, the proprietors (1918-1956) of the Mille Lacs trading post. Contents include information about orders, supplies, and prices for the trading post, legal and financial issues involving members of the Mille Lacs Ojibwe, and documents and correspondence from the Department of the Interior related to the Ayer's trading business at Mille Lacs.

Mille Lacs Indian Trading Post Oral History Project
Interviews focus on the physical appearance of the buildings and operation of the Mille Lacs Trading Post. All of the interviewees resided on or near the Mille Lacs Indian Reservation, worked at the trading post, and were well acquainted with Harry and Jeanette Ayer.
