Also some material relating to corporate parent G. Heileman Brewing Company, and correspondence with government agencies.

Union Records & Agreements

German Brewery Workers Union, Local Number 97, Minutes, 1892.
The minutes contain information on the union’s organization, resolutions, salaries of officials, fines and penalties to members, disbarrment of members, and union-made goods (in German).

St. Paul Breweries and International Union of United Brewery Workmen of America, Local No. 97 Contract, 1912.
Printed contract in English and German between the St. Paul breweries (Yeorg, Hamm, and Schmidt) and Local Union 97 of the International Union of United Brewery Workmen of America defining wages, work hours, overtime, sick time, and free beer policies.

Government Records

Malt Beverage Tax Stamps, 1930.
Unused samples of tax stamps of various types and in various amounts for barrels, cases, and bottles of fermented malt beverages (i.e., beer).

Records of the Minnesota Office of the Liquor Control Commissioner, 1919-1991 (bulk 1945-1959).
The records consist largely of incoming and outgoing correspondence concerning licenses and permits, laws and regulations, complaints, repeal of prohibition, sale of liquor on Indian reservations, and other matters related to liquor control, photographs of the commissioners, lists of licenses to sell liquor, the attorney general’s opinions on liquor regulations, information on liquor labels, and some reports and publications, reports, procedures, background information which describes the commission’s duties, and financial, revenue, and taxation documents.  The records contain files on the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators, the Sister Kenny Institute, the Joint Committee of the States to Study Alcoholic Beverage Laws, and the War Savings Council of the Liquor and Wine Industries.
