Minnesotans have been moving goods and people from place to place for hundreds of years. The original inhabitants of the area now called Minnesota, the explorers who briefly visited, and the early settlers used canoes and boats on water and carts and wagons pulled by animals to move around. As the population grew and new transportation methods were developed, there were additional and faster ways to get around that provided increased opportunities for commerce and recreation. This topic will provide a brief introduction to resources about several types of transportation.
