- Maps of a certain type, such as an atlas or plat, could be searched as "Ramsey county atlas" or "Ramsey county plat."
- One can also search for maps produced by a certain publisher or author, such as "Rockford Map Publishers" or Geological Survey (U.S.).
- Maps of a certain region, such as Polk County, could be searched as "Polk county."
- Maps can also be searched by subject, such as pictorial maps, biographical maps, or maps of bicycle trails.
Map call numbers in our catalog begin with the letter G. Most MNHS maps also have a sizing code such as 2f, 4f, 6f or 8f (2f being the smallest size and 8f the largest).
