Records created by the public school systems of Minnesota can be a rich source of information about individuals and communities throughout the history of the state. No other record type more clearly outlines the facets of daily life in Minnesota communities. Organized by school districts, these records can not only provide insight into larger research questions about changing community demographics and school curriculum, but also provide information about individuals (both students and teachers) within the system.
Note that the variety and depth of material varies widely from district to district and certain records with personal information (i.e. grades, etc.) are restricted.
